Scottish singer/songwriter Amy Macdonald (1987) debuted in 2007 with 'This Is The Life', a mature sounding pop album with folky influences.
Due to the success of 'This Is The Life' Amy Macdonald became the highest selling female to debut in 2007. In early 2008, the album eventually topped the official UK album charts.
Amy tends to blame Pete Doherty and Fran Healy (of Travis) for inspiring her to pick up the guitar at the age of 12, to teach herself to play and to write her first songs.
