She played in front of her first audiance at the age of nine. Ten years later in 1989 she released her first album 'Ani DiFranco'. The folk rock from Ani her early years has gotten a strong jazz infuence.
Ani released all her albums on her own label, named 'Righteous Babe'. As an ardent feminist and open bisexual she tackles issues like rape, abortion an sexism.
It can't get much more solo than Ani her last album. For her last album 'Educated Guess' she wrote, played, sang and produced everything herself. It's a tribute to herself.
