Benni Hemm Hemm is a refreshing project of the Icelandic singer/songwriter Benedikt Herman Hermansson. Although the name might suggest otherwise, Benni Hemm Hemm consists of a 17-member mini-big-band. At least half of them play all sorts of wind instruments. The result is wonderful, mystical pop-folk music.
For their show in Paradiso's small hall the band is striped down to nine members. Benedikt sings most songs in Icelandic, which makes the music extra mysterious. The second Benni Hemm Hemm record 'Kajak' was released January 2007.
