Tim van Berkestijn alias Benny Sings is a singer/songwriter. He named himself after the LP 'Chet Baker Sings'. Benny debuted in 2003 with 'Champagne People', an album that was recorded mainly in his living room in Amsterdam. On this soul album hip-hop beats and vocals are rounded off with jazz elements. Two months after the release of the record Benny already played the Lowlands Festival in The Netherlands. He also won an Essent Award for young music talent. In France the number 'Little Donna' from the album 'I Love You' (2005) became a small radio hit on Radio Nova.
Besides making his own music, Benny Sings also produces for other artists. He produced the debut album 'Hamel' of Wouter Hamel. His latest album 'Benny At Home' was released in 2007.
