  Calexico Biography
Calexico is a Tucson, Arizona based rock band, who are known for their eclectic repertoire, varying from americana to indie and alternative to folk. Although the variety of styles, Calexico’s music always echoes the atmosphere of the deep American South and Mexico.

Comprising of core-members Joey Burns and John Convertino Calexico came into existence in 1996, after releasing the debut LP Spoke.

Burns and Convertino first started playing together as the rhythm section of Giant Sand in 1990. After forming Friends of Dean Martin for two years they finally started Calexico, named after the North Carolina border town.

With the extensive list of records and collaborations Calexico released through the years, they build up the reputation of always delivering quality. As they did again on 2008’s ‘Carried To Dust’.

VIDEO UNIQUE COCOROSIE CONCERT RELEASED ON FABCHANNEL

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008
On April 29th the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra teamed up with the eccentric folk duo CocoRosie for a unique concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. It turned out to be a unique night.

Luckily the entire performance was recorded. The video of this recording was already released on the websites of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra as well as the Concertgebouw. Now the video of the entire CocoRosie concert is also available to the world through Fabchannel.

Watch now, and see how an entire classical string orchestra sounds when combined with one of the craziest duos around.

  CocoRosie biography
CocoRosie is an American experimental folk duo. The sisters Sierra Rose Casady and Bianca Lailani Casady combine folk with electronica and hiphop, using all instruments they bump into, toys included.

The sisters got nicknamed Coco and Rosie at a young age by their mother. This is where the name CocoRosie derives from.

During their childhood the sisters had been living all over America and lost track of each other during their teens. Sierra ended up in Paris to become an opera singer and Bianca lived in Brooklyn. In 2003 Bianca paid an unannounced visit to Sierra in Paris. Ever since the two are inseparable.

Within two months they recorded the CocoRosie debut album ‘La Maison De Mon Reve’, which was released in 2004. The next year ‘Noah’s Ark’ followed and in 2007 ‘The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn’. Since that time, the band has been touring all over the world.

Grayson Capps Paradiso concert video online now

Friday, June 6th, 2008
The video of Grayson Capps’ Paradiso concert has just released online. You can watch it here on Fabchannel… where else!

Watching his live performance I wonder if Grayson Capps is a singer who likes to tell stories or a storyteller who likes to sing. He almost talks as much as he sings. But that makes this big and bearded American an extremely friendly appearance on stage and real fun to watch. Hearing the audience singing along with him, I guess they would agree with me. Just have a look for yourselves.

  Grayson Capps biography
“He’s f***ing awesome!” That’s what Scarlett Johansson said about this rising star in blues and country. The New Orleans street-poet and singer/songwriter Grayson Capps (1967) is known for his pure and raw blues, country and folk songs

At the end of the 90’s Grayson Capps formed together with John Lawrence the core of the band Stavin’Chain. As Grayson Capps he debuted in 2005 with the record ‘If You Knew My Mind’. Later on he released ‘Wail & Ride’ (2006) and ‘Songbones’ (2007).
