Watch now, and see how an entire classical string orchestra sounds when combined with one of the craziest duos around.

  CocoRosie biography
CocoRosie is an American experimental folk duo. The sisters Sierra Rose Casady and Bianca Lailani Casady combine folk with electronica and hiphop, using all instruments they bump into, toys included.

The sisters got nicknamed Coco and Rosie at a young age by their mother. This is where the name CocoRosie derives from.

During their childhood the sisters had been living all over America and lost track of each other during their teens. Sierra ended up in Paris to become an opera singer and Bianca lived in Brooklyn. In 2003 Bianca paid an unannounced visit to Sierra in Paris. Ever since the two are inseparable.

Within two months they recorded the CocoRosie debut album ‘La Maison De Mon Reve’, which was released in 2004. The next year ‘Noah’s Ark’ followed and in 2007 ‘The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn’. Since that time, the band has been touring all over the world.

LIVE VIDEO MIKE PATTON’S MONDO CANE OUT NOW

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008
On June 12th Mike Patton performed Mondo Cane, his unconventional interpretation of post-war Italian songs, live at Paradiso. This unique, one-time-of, concert with the Metropole Orchestra was part of the Holland Festival and is now available for watching online, like here in the player below.

About Mike Patton and Mono Cane
Born in 1968 in California, Mike Patton is primarily known as singer of Faith No More. Patton also was lead singer of experimental metal bands like Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, Lovage, Fantômas, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Peeping Tom. Next to singing he’s active as producer and runs his own record label, Ipecac Records.

Mike Patton’s latest project is called Mondo Cane. In Mondo Cane he performs a repertory of post-war Italian songs, some of which are in totally new arrangements but which are often surprisingly true to the style nevertheless

With a slik haircut and white custume, Patton puts on the role of a charismatic singing showmaster. On the other side there are the vocal fireworks for which Patton is renowned and that display the versatility of his voice. This makes Mondo Cane a schizophrenic, surprising and thrilling project.

All music is composed by Mike Patton together with Daniele Luppi, a young and talented Italian film music composer. On this special evening, organized by Holland Festival, the music is played by the Metropole Orchestra.
