British Sea Power is a four-piece indie rock band from Brighton (England), consisting of Yan (vocals, guitar), Noble (guitar, piano), Hamilton (bass, vocals, gitaar) and Wood (drums). Yan, Hamilton and Wood are friends since high school, where they played in several bands. After graduating, Yan moved to Brighton to study at the University of Reading. That's where he met the fourth band member Noble.
After producing a demo and playing several gigs named British Air Powers, they decided to change their band name into British Sea Power (named after one of their demo tracks). In Brighton British Sea Power build up a strong local fanbase, partly due to their own club night called 'Club Sea Power'.
In 2003 British Sea Power released their debut 'The Decline of British Sea Power. 'Open Season' followed up in 2005 and reached to the to the 13th place in British charts. In 2008 the band released their successful third record 'Do You Like Rock Music?'.
