On a trip through Eastern Europe Matt Aveiro, Matt Maust, Jonnie Russell, and Nathan Willett came up with a name for their band, Cold War Kids.

Influenced by Bob Dylan and Velvet Underground they make insightful, raw indie-rock like that of The Decemberists, The White Stripes and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

Passionate performances and enthusiasm from the bloggers scene created a big hype around the Cold War Kids. They released their debut album 'Robbers & Cowards' by the end of 2006.

Their follow up album 'Loyalty to Loyalty', released in 2008, saw them begin an extensive European tour playing major venues in Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands.
