EVERYBODY'S GOING WILD
HEY SAILOR

I'M LAUGHING AT YOUFounded in 1994 in Detroit, The Detroit Cobra's are one of the first bands from the Detroit garage rock scene. Band members Steve Shaw, Damian Lang, Kenny Tudrick, Rachel Nagy and Maribel Restrepo decided to play only covers instead of writing their own songs. Their love for vintage R&B and old rock 'n' roll songs made The Detroit Cobra's to play standards of these genres, transformed into garage rock songs.
The Detroit Cobra's' line up changed a lot of time since the founding of the group. Even founder Steve Shaw left the band at the end of the '90's and was replaced by guitarist Dante Aliano. All other original members have also been replaced, except for singer Rachel Nagy.
After releasing several singles and debut album 'Mink Rat or Rabit' in 1998, The Detroit Cobra's appeared on Jack White's compilation CD 'Sympathetic Sounds of Detroit' in 2001, which also featured singles of The Von Bondies and The White Stripes. In the same year the band signed a deal with Rough Trade and released their second record 'Life, Love and Leaving'. 'Baby' (2005) and 'Tied & True' (2007) followed.
