BIOGRAPHY
Singer Ian McCulloch met guitarist Will Sergeant in 1978. With a drum-machine which they called ‘Echo’ the duo recorded a few demo’s. That same year bassist Les Pattinson joined the band and they made their live debut in Liverpool, calling themselves Echo & The Bunnymen.
After getting their first record-deal in 1979 the drum-machine was replaced by a drummer. Several top 10 hits followed untill McCulloch left the band in 1988. In 1997 ‘The Bunnymen’ reunited in the original formation. 2005’s ‘Siberia’ is the last release of the band’s fusion of gloomy post-punk and Doors-inspired psychedelia.
