Explosions in the Sky is an American instrumental post-rock band from Texas. It all began in 1999 when Chris (drummer) had put up a flyer in a local record store that read "wanted: sad, triumphant, rock band.” The other three responded to this note and that sparked the birth of the band.
After playing on the 4th of July, the sight of fireworks in the night sky inspired them to name the Explosions in the Sky. Explosions in the Sky are compared to artists like Radiohead, Mogwai and The Workhouse.rnAfter the release of their first album/demo 'How Strange, Innocence' Explosions in the Sky got a record deal . Their second album 'Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever' got them a huge fan base in the US, Europe and Japan.
