THE REAL DAMAGE
TO TAKE YOU HOMEFrank Turner was born in 1981 in the Persian Gulf but moved back to the UK and was educated at the prestigious Eton College. After school Frank joined punk group Million Dead when he moved to London.
Million Dead were together from 2001-2005 and dominated the underground punk scene. The band became very popular within the punk genre and even won Kerrang magazine's best newcomer in 2003.
Whilst still in Million Dead, Frank Turner started playing solo gigs inspired by the folk and country music he listened to when he was younger. Turner played acoustic versions of the Million Dead songs and when the group came to an end in 2005, Frank took the logical step of performing the new versions to his expanding fan base.
Frank Turner's music romanticizes his punk days. The folk and country melodies mixed with heartfelt, personal and often haunting lyrics makes his music resonate with the audience at his live shows. Critics have praised his musical style and he is much admired in the industry.
'Sleep is for the week', Turner's debut album was released in 2007 and gained much airplay in the UK and America. He toured both countries supporting acts like Biffy Clyro and Yourcodenameis:milo. Recently he has graced the stages at the Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury festivals.
