See who is playing who’s songs in our freshly updated cover channel. We’ve made a compliation channel of all covers we could find in our archive. Watch Eric Roberson doing Michael Jacksons’ ‘Beat It’, The Bouncing Souls rocking Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison or a big band version of the Beck song ‘E-pro’ performer by New Cool Collective.
It’s very likely we missed a few cool covers. If you know one, please let us know!

FANS GET MORE SPACE ON FABCHANNEL
On our new website a whole different side of Fabchannel became visible. It was always there, but it never had it’s own place until now. I’m talking about the fans. Where would bands or Fabchannel be without the people that love music.
After seeing the enthusiasm with which you’ve been shouting and becoming fan, we’ve decided to give you guys even more pixels on Fabchannel. As from last week the home and all genre pages have a brand new ‘latest shouts’ section.
This way you can tell the visitors of Fabchannel what they should or shouldn’t watch. We always try to point out all jewels in our archive, but you’re the real experts!
I hope you like this little new thing of our website.
SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON LIVE MUSIC IN OUR NEW SHOUTBOX
Finally you can all let the world know what you think of the concerts and artists on Fabchannel. Whether you’re in love with the singer, was there in the venue or think that show was just rubbish, let it all out in our new shoutbox. Everybody knows it’s bad to bottle things up.
You can find a shoutbox on every concert page, like displayed below.
All your shouts will also be shown on your public profile, as you can see in this example.
Of course you have got to be logged in to be able to shout. While you’re at it you can immediately give a nice twist to your profile page by adding some pictures.
SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE BANDS, BECOME A FAN!
We launched our new site last week and announced to expect a lot of extra features to follow. But you probably didn’t expect to see them up on the site this soon. As from now you can ‘become a fan’ of your favourite bands on Fabchannel.
With a simple click on the fan button, next to the band image, you can support any band or artist on Fabchannel and become an official fan. This way all your favourite bands are shown on your profile and your picture will feature on the band’s page!
This is where you become a fan:
This is where your face will be on the band’s page:
And finally this is how your profile will look:
Have fun!
Fabchannel Calendar Feed & New In Archive Player
We’ve just released two simple but nevertheless very handy new features to keep you posted on all new Fabchannel live webcasts and to make sure, you are the first to see them when they are added to the on-demand archive.
The Fabchannel Calendar Feed automatically adds all Fabchannel live dates to your agenda. Right now the feed works in iCal and Windows Calendar, but we plan to make others available soon.
The Fabchannel Calendar Feed: webcal://www.fabchannel.com/ical/upcoming.ics
After a live webcast it usually takes a few days before we’re able to add a concert to our on-demand archive. For you to always have automatic access to the most recent Fabchannel releases, we’ve created the ‘New In Archive’ Fabplayer.
The Fabplayer below always features the latest Fabchannel concerts.
Fabchannel videos in Netvibes
Did you know that it’s possible to embed Fabchannel videos into your Netvibes homepage with our video player, the Fabplayer? It’s very easy.
Step 1: select a concert or playlist you want to embed.
To embed an entire concert, go to the concert of your choice on www.fabchannel.com and start the concert. Below the video, within the black frame, you can see a SHARE button. Press SHARE and copy the HTML embed code to insert it into the code of your site.
If you’ve signed up for a Fabchannel account, you’re able to create different playlists. You can use the Fabplayer to publish these playlists on your Netvibes page. Just like entire concerts, these playlists have a HTML embed code. Copy this code to embed it into your Netvibes page.
Step 2: paste the HTML into your Netvibes homepage.
Go to your Netvibes page and open the widget tab (see image below). In the widget tab, click on external widgets and choose the HTML option. Press edit and paste the embed code you’ve copied into the source section. Now just click OK and you can embed the Fabplayer to your page.
EMBEDDING CONCERT VIDEOS
EMBEDDING ENTIRE CONCERTS
Use the Fabplayer to easily embed entire concerts into your website. Just go to the concert of your choice and get the HTML embed code. The embed code is displayed in the following widget:
The Fabplayer is accepted in many platforms, among which: MySpace, Blogger, WordPress, Netvibes, Tagged and Hyves. You can also embed concert videos into Bebo and Facebook, but this can be done in another way.
To embed Fabchannel concerts into Facebook, you need to embed the following application to your Facebook profile. In the application you can choose the concert of your choice.
To embed Fabchannel concerts into Bebo you must visit the Fabchannel profile on Bebo and find your video. If the concert you’re looking for isn’t (yet) available there, please mail us.
