Together with partners Xs4all and the Amsterdam UitBuro, Fabchannel connected ten renowed Amsterdam cultural institutions to the Leidseplein fibre glass network in 2006. The construction of the network was funded by the City of Amsterdam.

Via the network the participating institutions - Paradiso, Melkweg, De Balie, AUB, Stadsschouwburg, Concertgebouw, Theater Bellevue, the Dutch institute for Media Art, the Waag Society and Fabchannel - are provided with a 100Mbit connection to the internet and a gigabit connection with each other. The Leidseplein fibre glass network enables the institutions to offer self-produced cultural programs as high quality broadband services to their audiences.
