John Watts is from a family of singers. Inspired by artists like Lou Reed, Captain Beefheart and David Bowie, Watts created a cross-over of punk, art-wave, pop and reggae. In the late 70's he got known as the frontman of new wave band Fischer-Z.
After two solo albums in the early 80's, Watts decided to pick up his solo career once again around 1995. After all those years he is still true to his mix op pop, reggae and rock, also on his latest album 'Real Life Is Good Enough' (2006).
