The British prodigy Laura Marling (1990) started playing the guitar at the age of three. Her father taught her how to play the blues and folk songs by a.o. Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Ryan Adams.
To start off her career as a singer-songwriter, Laura moved from Reading to London when she was 16. Everybody was amazed by her intelligent folk songs, and the London music scene embraced her. Jamie-T took her with him on tour and she was invited to play on the latest albums of The Rakes and The Mystery Jets.
Laura Marling's modern acoustic folk-pop is compared to that of Regina Spektor and Joni Mitchell. After releasing a few EP's, her debut album 'Alas, I Cannot Swim' came out in February 2008.
