Madrugada is a Norwegian rock band formed in 1995. De band consists of singer Sivert Høyem and bass player Frode Jacobsen. The band originally consisted of three members, but after the tragic death of guitarist Robert Burås (31) Sivert and Frode decided to continue as a duo.
The band started out as Abbey's Adoption, but they soon changed their name to Madrugada. Their alternative indie rock music is often compared to that of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and Tindersticks.
Madrugada's debut 'Industrial Silence' was released in 1999, followed by four other albums. In 2008 they released their sixth album 'Madrugada', with the last contributions of Robert Burås.
