Motion City Soundtrack is an American pop punk band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are often compared with bands like Jimmy Eat World and The Get Up Kids. Motion City Soundtrack was founded in 1997 and indepedently released their first album called 'I am The Movie' in 2002. Epitaph Records heard this record, signed the band and did a national release on the album.
In 2004 Motion City Soundtrack had done a European and Japanese tour with Blink 182, during the tour they decided that 182 bass player Mark Hoppus would produce their second album 'Commit This To Memory', which was issued in 2005. The single 'Hold me Down' became a small success in the United States.
Fall 2007 their third Epitaph album was released called 'Even If It Kills Me'.
