Trondheim (Norway) based rock band Motorpsycho was formed in 1989 and consist of Bent Saether (vocals, bass), Hangus Magnus Ryan (guitar) and Kenneth Kapstad (drums). The trio combines lots of different styles in their psychedelic rock music, such as metal, jazz and grunge. Their band name derives from the Russ Meyer movie 'Motorpsycho'.

Bent and Hangus are the only members of Motorpsycho who have played in the band since the beginning. The group had two other drummers before Kenneth, of which Kjell Runar "Killer" Jenssen was the first one. With this formation they released their first demo 'Maiden Voyage' in 1990 and their debut album 'Lobotomizer' in 1991.

When Håkon Gebhardt replaced Kjell Runar Motorpsycho started releasing new material almost every year. I didn't take long before they received a Norwegian Grammy nomination and created a large fan base in Scandinavia, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Motorpsycho is a very productive band. They released 'Black Hole/Blank Canvas' in 2006, which was one of the most successful albums of the band, and 'Little Lucid Moments' in 2008.
