Singer/songwriter Paul Weller, born John William Weller in 1958, is one of the most influential figures in British pop music. His songwriting is rooted in the British Culture, but also internationally he is reckoned as a big name in music industry.
The world got to know Paul Weller as frontman of The Jam ('75 '82), the most popular band of the punk era. Weller and the Jam have been a great influence for numerous bands. Looking for new musical challenges he disbanded The Jam and formed The Style Council ('83 '90) in 1983. In the 90's Weller started his successful solo career, first as The Paul Weller Movement and later on simply as Paul Weller.
Paul Weller released his ninth solo album '22 dreams' in the summer of 2008. The album features many guest musicians as Noel en Liam Gallagher, Graham Coxon (Blur) and Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Craddock. '22 dreams' was met with great reviews and is called to be Weller's masterpiece.
