BIOGRAPHY

Dutch singer/guitarist Michiel Flamman started pop rock band Solo in 2003. The Utrecht based songwriter decided to write songs in the style of the Beatles which he couldn't play with his band at that time, Perkin. Pianist Simon Gitsels heard Michiel's songs and was very enthusiastic about it and got involved in the project. Immediately there was a special chemistry between the two. From there on Solo was a duo.

In 2004 Michiel quits Perkin and signed a record deal with Excelsior Recordings for Solo. In that same year they released their debut album 'Songs 'n Sounds' and won an Essent Award for best Dutch Talent.

Two years later Solo released their second album 'Solopeople'. This record was a great success in the Netherlands, with two singles, 'Come Back To Me' and 'Opportunities', reaching into the upper regions of the charts. The album was also released in Germany and France, which resulted in several gigs outside of the Netherlands.
