BIOGRAPHY
The Brunettes are a indie pop band from New Zealand formed in 1998. Jonathan Bree and Heather Mansfield are the core duo of the band with contributions from James Milne, Ryan McPhun, Harry Cundy and Nick Harte.
Jonathan and Heather played in different bands before they met each other in 1998. They decided that they'd like to collaborate on sweet but smart pop inspired by '60s girl groups and '70s punk.
In that same year they released their debut EP 'Mars Loves Venus'. Thereafter it took them 4 years to finish their first album 'Holding Hands, Feeding Ducks'. The albums 'Mars Loves Venus' (2004), with the same name as the EP, and 'Structures And Cosmetics' (2007) followed.
