I come from a small town next to Amsterdam, called Zaandam. I started playing guitar on my 12th because my parents sent me to guitarlessons. I still appreciate that because my love for guitars was born. However, I quit lessons after a year or two to develop my own style. Later I joined the band 'Turf' which was contracted by Ariola and climbed nr. 14 tipparade in 1980 with single 'Crime Of Passion' from same-named album, followed by a television live concert together with english band XTC, in a dutch TV program called Vara's Popkaravaan. Nowadays I record and mix songs from myself and my friend Willem Henneke, singer/songwriter from 'Turf'. At the moment we are called 'Room 2'. My home studio is getting better and better. Especially now with the MacBook and Logic Express. In 2007 I stopped my regular office job because of a company economical reorganization and was somehow forced to convert my hobby into work, at least the producing part of it. So I started an intensive course Audio Engineering at SAE Amsterdam. Perhaps the very long period of hobbyistic/passionated involvement makes me maybe 'no trend' (I still like to say that :-)) but at the same time a dyed-in-the-wool and experienced musician/producer. However on a hobby level. That's why I think the SAE can bring everything up to a higher level.
